Escape From Pompeii has finished manufacturing! After months of perfecting the components, printing, and assembly, Escape From Pompeii looks and feels amazing. The high quality components include: 130 cards with a smooth matte finish Painted wooden playing pieces and dice A collapsible cardboard volcano 68 tiles with 10 different designs A cloth drawstring bag to keep the tokens safe All with beautiful mosaic designs illustrated by Rob Ingle. We wanted to keep things simple, high quality, and eco-friendly with all components being made of wood and card.

Escape From Pompeii has officially funded on Kickstarter! The Kickstarter campaign wrapped up last night, having raised over £13,000 to manufacture Escape From Pompeii. We’re so grateful to everyone who supported the project, and excited to go into production. We can’t wait to get our hands on the final version of the game and send it out to everyone who backed the campaign. Exekias Games have won 3rd place at the University of Bristol's New Enterprise Competition with our first game, Escape From Pompeii! After several months of enterprise masterclasses, submitting a business plan proposal, and being chosen to present to a panel of judges, Sam came away from the final stage of the New Enterprise Competition last Wednesday with a shiny winners plaque and £3000. We hope that we’ve done historians and board gamers proud, and shown that Arts and Humanities deserve as much recognition and funding as tech.

Over the last few months, we've had a few copies of Escape From Pompeii out in the wild and so far the reviews have been incredibly positive. Here are some of the highlights:

This year we attended the UK Games Expo for the first time. Over 70,000 people wandered its stalls over the three days, filling four huge halls at the UK’s biggest exhibition centre (the NEC, Birmingham). As first time visitors and exhibitors, we were overwhelmed by the sheer size of it and the thousands of wonderful board gamers we met. Over the three days, we ran constant demos of Escape From Pompeii at two tables, participated in the very first year of the hugely popular UKGE pin collective, and gave out hundreds of free stickers and flyers. It was amazing to speak to so many enthusiastic gamers and hear the heartwarmingly positive feedback from everyone who saw and played the game. It was also a brilliant start to the Escape From Pompeii Kickstarter, which launched with a bang. It was an absolutely incredible (and exhausting) three days. Thanks for having us, UKGE.
